Adam White CMLI (Chartered Landscape Architect and CABE Space
Enabler)
Adam is an RHS Gold Medal award winning chartered landscape
architect and pioneer of the Playscape design approach which
promotes challenges, nature and risk in a playful landscape
environment. Adam has extensive experience in delivering community
engaged capital projects and is a Green Flag Judge, Play England
Design Advisor and Design Ambassador for the Homes &
Communities Academy.

In 2007 and he was reported as 'ahead of the game' in his
profession by the Sunday Telegraph and in June 2009 along with his
co designer, Andrée Davies was profiled in The Times for their
Lyric Theatre Roof Terrace Garden in Hammersmith, London.
Adam has appeared on national and regional TV and radio and
completed a series of Design Masterclass Workshops in partnership
with internationally renowned designer Wayne Hemmingway. He is a
DJ, bingo caller and enjoys running, cycling and rowing; since 2008
has been the Novice Squad Coach at Kingston Rowing Club,
Surrey.
Adam will be returning to Playfair this summer to share his
experience of how he has designed, managed and most importantly
fostered local ownership of his Playscape projects. Specifically
looking at how the right balance between landscape and equipment
along with some key early design decisions can help reduce the
challenges of everyday maintenance.
